Announcing, HPA Press!
We were so inspired by this 8 year old boy, who got his homemade book onto the shelves of his local library, that we decided to start a program here where kids can share their very own books with each other! We’re calling it, HPA Press.
All grades are welcome to write and/or illustrate a book to be placed on a special shelf in our library. The books can stay here permanently or be lent for a short while, whatever the student wants. It can be as simple as some pages stapled together, or a hardcover, where the story is written inside a blank journal, like the boy in the news story did. Softcovers will be read in the library only, since they are more fragile, and hardcovers will be checked out, just like any other book in our library!
We hope some students are inspired to create and share and we can’t wait to fill our HPA Press shelf up with wonderful homemade books!
