Each year, High Point's librarians make recommended reading lists to help support your children in continuing to read throughout the summer. While none of these books are required, summer reading is FUN and keeps kids' brains and vocabularies sharp

Every year, 8th graders are put into teams in science class to create a Rube Goldberg machine. This is the culminating project to end their science physics unit. They are tasked with designing, planning and building a Rube Goldberg machine. The machine must include 15 chain reaction steps and flow continuously to complete an everyday task.

Armed with rolls and rolls of jazzy-looking duct tape and dozens of zip-lock baggies, second grade teachers at High Point Academy, Tori Dohlen and Staycee Sciranka, led the charge as their students created much-needed gifts for the children at Hillsides Pasadena.

It is a very busy and exciting time at High Point, with a range of culminating activities across the grade levels and special community events, and the next four weeks will certainly be more of the same.  As we approach the end of the 2023-2024 school year, I think about the inevitable bittersweet departure of our 8th grade class and reflect on what makes our High Point graduates so special and our wonderful school so unique.

Some nine months in the making, two middle school students achieved a first for the school. It took a team with a strong working plan—one musician/video expert and one talented researcher—to craft a winning documentary that has achieved historic status.

5th and 6th grade advisory students discussed how serving others is an important part of being a member of a community.

Looking back, I can clearly see that many of my passions, values, and choices were seeded when I was a student at High Point, and I feel lucky that I grew up in such a nurturing environment.

April is National Poetry Month, and High Point Academy’s fourth graders know the perfect way to celebrate: share poetry with new friends, young and old. As part of the school’s annual Community Engagement program, the class always visits The British Home, a local independent and assisted living residence. What better way to spread cheer than write and illustrate original poetry and share it with the folks at the Home?
