High Point’s Tradition of Community Engagement Provides Lessons in Both Work and Charity for Thoughtful First Graders—and Biscuits for Some Lucky Dogs!

After an extensive renovation of High Point Academy’s art room, complete with new work tables, a large ceramic kiln, and an even larger flatbed printing press, there was only one thing wanting: a way to honor long-time art teacher Sandi Brune that befits her legacy and her undeniable impact on her students. Glass artist Ray Ben Moszkowicz was tapped to come up with the solution—two stained glass windows reflecting both sunlight and the spirit of Sandi Brune.

High Point Academy’s “Eagle Times” newspaper was started by four 6th graders, Megan, Lexi, Madeline, and Jacob with the hope of being an informative voice for HPA eagles. Read the latest Issue by clicking here.

Armed with work gloves and trash bags, more than thirty students from High Point Academy fanned out across the south end of Eaton Canyon Nature Center to rid the reserve of the dreaded Brassica nigra—a mustard plant that is dangerous for the environment and deceptive in its yellow beauty.
